Franklin is a specialist in xenobiology and in charge of Medlab on Babylon 5. He spent his early years hitchhiking through space, offering his doctoral services in exchange for the opportunity to examine new lifeforms. His strong sense of personal morality often conflicts with his duties as chief medical provider for aliens of many different cultures, many of whom do not agree with his views.
Frankling has traveled to Mars with Lyta Alexander and their cargo: the telepaths manipulated by the Shadows that were taken from a Psi-Corp transport last year by the Alliance. Apparently he has orders from Sheridan as to what exactly he should do with the cargo, but that information is classified.
