The Omega-class Destroyer was originally designed to replace the outdated Heavy Cruiser class, but with the advent of the Explorer-class cruiser, the Omega-class was downgraded to a destroyer ranking. The Omega class has a rotational cylinder in the center of its hull to provide gravity, as well as a squadron of Star Furies for fighter cover. It has a large beam weapon in the aft and fore hull, as well as a plasma bolt weapon in the fore hull.
