In early 2260, President Clark declared a state of emergency and instituted martial law througout the Earth Alliance. Due to this unconstitutional act, Babylon 5, along with the colonies of Proxima 3 and Orion 7, declared independance from Earth. Shortly thereafter, Clark tried to sieze control of Babylon 5 by sending a fleet of cruisers to attack the station. After a long battle, Babylon 5 and the Churchhill stood victorious. Seconds later, another carrier fleet arrived. They were ready to move in when Ambassador Delenn arrived on the White Star with a fleet of Minbari warships. The Earth fleet withdrew, and the station was saved.
Since then, Earth has been fairly quiet, presumably preparing another assault on B5 or one of the rebelling colonies. There has been no word from the rebellion as of late, but they as well are gathering their forces, preparing to strike.
